We have happy news this week!! Rus was contacted by Hogle Zoo this week saying he’d been recommended for their EcoExplorer position for this summer by someone at Discovery Gateway, and would he please send a resume etc. So he did (Thursday) Friday they called and asked him to come up to the zoo for an interview, which went well. They asked him to come back Saturday to do a sample presentation which also went well. They called him back about 40 minutes later and told him he had the job! So happy day! Rus gets to work at Hogle Zoo! Dream job! The whole day, Saturday, felt very blessed. Rus actually wasn’t feeling well that morning, he was able to do everything he needed to do, and not be really sick until afterwards -we got in the car in the zoo parking lot and then he was having trouble breathing-he’s been sick for a while, we think it turned into pneumonia. It being Satuday the doctor’s office was closed, but he had another refill of his antibiotics from when he had a sinus infection, so we were still able to get him medicine. He’s doing a bit better today.
Gwen is on antibiotics too. She’d been sick all week, and when we took her in on Friday to the dr shehad a temperature of 104. Ugh. She’s starting to do better too. She hasn’t been sleeping well at all though, so I’m really tired….I substituted for Xander’s primary class in church today and I guess I must have mushed up what I was trying to say because one of the other kids looked at me and said, “You didn’t get enough sleep last night.” Amen. Here’s a funny Xander story. There was a large snow drift in the front yard. Xander climbed up to the top and his feet broke through the crust. He sank in up to his hips and called to Rus to come get him out. Rus came over and picked up Xander by the back of his coat and lifted him out. Xander must have been pretty impressed at that, because he said, “Babbo! You’re arms can lift kids’ legs out of snow like toothpicks out of cheese!”

congrats on the job Rus! That's way awesome
Congrats the third! What exactly is an EcoExplorer?
Get well soon. My sister is expecting and has pneumonia- no fun at all. I've heard more about pneumonia this year than I ever have before. Wonder what's up with that?
